Bus Solutions Limited, the UK’s Leading Custom Enclosure manufacturer, secured pole position in supplying custom 1U enclosures to be used to collate data in the Pit Lane for a leading Formula One racing team.
The 1U Compact PCI system was produced using standard CPCI backplanes and power backplanes but with all of its internal PCB’s being conformal coated.
The system provided 2 slots for 6U Compact PCI CPU boards and one standard P47 Power Supply. Power entry was via a filtered IEC inlet connector and a high performance surge protector manufactured by Bus Solutions Ltd. The enclosure was designed to be configured at manufacture to provide the 6U Compact PCI cards to be either front or rear mounted.
The system is cooled by 8 high performance 40mm Fans, manufactured by Sofasco Inc, on each side providing a uniform airflow through the system. The systems have been designed and manufactured to meet all CE standards and EMC & Safety.
